What is Potato Please?
The store’s own line is the cleanest definition: a first-person potato peeling game. You have a knife, a bucket, and a mountain of potatoes. Peel them with physics. Cut thin, waste nothing. Buy better tools. Finish the pile.
The three beats the store describes
- Peel. Skin comes off into water. Depth matters: too deep and you waste flesh.
- Finish the pile. Delivery is a separate action from peeling. A potato left on the bench is not turned in.
- Automate. Later purchases move sacks, run peelers, and swing a claw. That ladder is the automation page, not a crafting menu. This game does not have a farming or crafting system.
The setting
The longer store text casts you as a comrade told to keep an army fed. The rooms are a damp depot kitchen: olive paint, riveted steel, stencil lettering, one warm lamp, snow outside. The legal notice on the same page says the countries, agencies, people, and events are fictional. Copyright on that notice is 2026 Golden Horn Studios.
Tags on the store page include Simulation, Casual, Indie, Incremental, First-Person, Relaxing, Physics, Cold War, and Job Simulator. It is single player, with 20 achievements and 19 languages listed. Interface screenshots on the Japanese and Russian store pages are the same English images as the US page.
A separate dispute, reported by IGN on 21 September 2026, claims the project copies another potato-peeling game. That argument, the denial, and the date line live on the comparison page. This page does not re-try the case.
Questions
Who made Potato Please?
Golden Horn Studios is both developer and publisher on the Steam page. It is not Lucas Pope and not 3909, the team behind Papers, Please.
How long is it?
No reliable hour count was published on the store page, the hotfix notes, or the guides I used. I am leaving that blank.
